May 21: A Day to Remember

I woke up early to prepare myself on this day activities. I took a very cold bath and thought of what life ahead while savoring the cold water running through my body. It was going to be excruciating I thought.

This was my first stop. I was supposed to register as voter and citizen of the Philippines for the first time. However, when I arrived at the place the registration was temporarily disabled. To my disgust, I took a picture of a serene Davao Gulf and trees within the perimeter and found calmness in me. This what nature has taught "life is not all about being happy, sometimes you have to feel disappointments to be better". I left the site then with a lesson to learn.

On my way to the next stop, I trailed the China town along Uyanguren St. It was busy as it has been always.

On my way still, I saw this wreck building under construction. I was bothered by its appearance as it appeared totally loose and unsteady. It reminds me of the date May 21, 2009 as it has significant mark on my being unstable.

As I reach the next stop, I caught hundreds of mall walkers waiting for entry. I was one of them since I decided to just stay for awhile there since the weather was totally warm. The heat was invasive to my body and I felt that I got easily exhausted.

When the mall has opened, I went to look for what I was looking. I got one! I also took a picture of the wonderful persons who have shown good customer service. They served the people with the integrity and mandate of the service they represent. I felt that they have really shown greatest concern for their customer. Thanks for being professional, courteous and helpful to me.

The Slipper

This slipper that I bought marks the date of being a regular employee of the Ayala Group of Companies, the date I was accepted in law school in Ateneo de Davao Unviersity, the day when all my dreams are coming true. I just hope that this slipper will help me through all the challenging walks that I will have to do in the next journey to life.

Nanay Dionisia

The most popular mother in the Philippines today is probably Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao’s very own Aling Dionisia. We've known her as the religious devout who prayed incessantly during her son’s fights. And now, meet the new glitzy Aling Dionisia --- she’s stylish and is very much into ballroom dancing! Her glam is definitely a scene-stealer especially when she flew to America for the first time, to support her son’s fight. No doubt, Aling Dionisia , like her son, has become an international sensation!Last May 15, 2009, Mother Dionisia, celebrated her 60th birthday and the World Boxing Champion assured her the grandest celebration that she deserved. The party was held tonight the Phela Grande Convention Center and no less than former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos was there, being Mommy Dionisia’s idol when she was just a struggling young mother trying hard to make both ends meet in her small shanty in Labangal, General Santos City.
If everyone's life story follows the plot of Nanay Dionisia's Life. What life would be like for filipinos? Would it be a glamorous birthday party, a 30,000 gowns, a 300,000 rolex watch, a world's sensational boxer, or a mother who suffered the trail of life and finally tasted the fruits of her faith, love and labor.
